Submission Guidelines

The Health Ministry Journal is the official journal of the Health Ministries Association and welcomes articles that are consistent with the mission of the Association: to encourage, support and develop whole person ministries leading to the integration of faith and health.

Length of manuscripts can vary depending on the nature of the content. Authors can query the Editor prior to submitting an article if there is question as to the appropriateness of the article for the Journal.

Please follow these guidelines when submitting an article:

Either email the manuscript in an attached file to Editor Charlotte Eliopoulos at or mail one hard copy and one disk or CD copy of the manuscript to Health Education Network.
Use double spacing throughout the manuscript, including title page, abstract, article, acknowledgements, references, tables, and figure legends.
It is preferable that the manuscript be typed in MS Word, 11-point font.
On the title page, provide the author’s full name, credentials, affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, and email address. Do not place the author’s name on any of the other pages.
Provide a one paragraph abstract of the article.
Number the pages in the upper right hand corner.
Submit tables and figures in camera ready form.
Use the following format for references:

Articles

Jones, B.A., Smith, J.K., and Green, R.O. (2004). How to develop health education programs. American Journal of Health and Medicine, Volume(No.), pages.

Books

Jones, B.A. (2004). Parish Nursing Reference Book. New York: Health Books, pages.

     Internet

     National Health Foundation. (2004). Statistics on religion and health.
     Retrieved April 10, 2004, from http://www.thesiteaddress.org

It is the author’s responsibility to obtain any required permissions.
Allow 6-8 weeks for editorial review.
Provide a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like to have unaccepted material returned.
Once a manuscript is accepted, the author(s) will receive a letter of agreement.
Manuscripts that have been published elsewhere or submitted simultaneously to another journal will not be reviewed.

Letters to the Editor, Media Reviews, Poetry, and other material also can be submitted for publication.
